Equipment that is hosed down or steam-cleaned fails at the connector first. Immersion ratings alone do not cover a hot, high-pressure jet.
What the connector has to meet
Open the selector with these conditions- IP68 when mated (immersion)
- IPX9K when mated (hot, high-pressure jets)
- Rating stated for the connector as mated, with its cable
